Updates for the week of July 27, 2020
Federal Government:
- The Prime Minister and the Premier of Ontario announced that COVID Alert, a new national mobile app, is now available to Canadians for free download
- The app helps notify users if they may have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19
Newfoundland:
- The provincial government is extending the deadline for employers to submit applications under the Newfoundland and Labrador COVID-19 Essential Worker Support Program to August 20, 2020

Quebec:
- The provincial government is extending the deadline to pay taxes until September 30, 2020
- This deferral applies to individuals and corporations
Ontario:
- The provincial government, in partnership with the federal government, has extended the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance (CERA) for small businesses by one month
- The deadline for new applications is August 31, 2020. If you already submitted an application, the deadline to apply for the August extension is September 14, 2020.

Manitoba:
Saskatchewan:
- The province is extending it’s Saskatchewan Temporary Wage Supplement Program
- The program has been further expanded to include all workers, regardless of income level, at integrated healthcare facilities which provide both short-term and long-term health care
- A new application form is currently being developed for this expansion, and will be available in the coming days. Applications will be accepted until September 1, 2020

Alberta:
- Applications are still being accepted to the province’s Small and Medium Enterprise Relaunch Grant
- Application intake will remain open until Aug. 31, 2020, or for four weeks following the start of Stage Three of Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy – whichever is later

Yukon:
- Yukon businesses, not-for profit organizations and municipalities can apply to be matched with post-secondary students who will research COVID-19’s impact on their operations and help develop plans to overcome those challenges

Northwest Territories:
- The Government of the Northwest Territories will extend the wage top-up program for an additional eight weeks to match the federal extension of the Canada Emergency Relief Benefit (CERB) to October 3, 2020
