Diversity and Inclusion

Understanding, accepting, and valuing differences between people

We offer a service unlike any other in Canada or the world. The ways in which we can help drive growth continues to expand.

Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Magnet is committed to addressing the unemployment and underemployment of youth, newcomers to Canada, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and other individuals facing barriers to employment, and to successful business ownership and entrepreneurship.

With digital matching technology, Magnet enables job seekers to privately and securely self-identify as a member of any employment equity group to promote diversity and supporting bias-free recruitment strategies. We also have partnerships with business support organizations who share our commitment to helping small and medium businesses to grow through better access to trade, export and procurement opportunities.

Reducing Barriers and Expanding Opportunities

Magnet seeks to ensure an inclusive approach to supporting underserved groups such as women, youth, Indigenous peoples, newcomers, racialized peoples, LGBTQ2S+ peoples, persons with disabilities, veterans, and Canadians living in rural, remote, and Northern communities. Magnet follows the Government of Canada’s definition for Employment Equity Groups.

Your identity matters

Magnet’s self-identification tool is unique to our platform and supports job seekers facing barriers in finding their next opportunity.

How it works: When you create your free Magnet account, you may choose to privately and securely identify as belonging to an employment equity group.

Step 1

Your self-identification is kept private and secure and allows you to receive specific job opportunities and resources to support your career journey.

Step 2

When employers share an opportunity through Magnet, a single click can send that job posting to job seekers who meet job requirements and who have identified as a diverse candidate.

Step 3

It’s a win-win scenario. Employers looking to increase their competitiveness by attracting and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce can use Magnet to find qualified candidates. And Canadians belonging to employment equity groups are matched with employers seeking diverse candidates.
